Podcast Recommendation: Invisibilia: The Power of Categories (The hosts examine how categories define us — how, if given a chance, humans will jump into one category or another. The first portion covers the life of a transgender individual who spent many years switching frequently and uncontrollable between identifying as a male and female. Serving Size: 20 pieces

Prep Time: 10 minutes | Cook Time: 12 minutes

Ingredients:

  • 7 sticks of turkey jerky sticks, cut in thirds (I used Simms turkey snack sticks from Aldi)
  • 2-3 tablespoons shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 package refrigerated biscuit roll (makes 10 biscuits)
  • egg white (or whole egg, whisked)
  • garlic salt and pepper
  • spray olive oil

Instructions:

  1. lay foil down on baking sheet and spray with oil so biscuit dough won’t stick
  2. preheat oven to 350 degrees
  3. take biscuits out of wrapping and individually cut each biscuit in half
  4. starting with one half, flatten and sprinkle cheese in the middle
  5. put jerky stick on top of cheese
  6. wrap the cheese and jerky slices together, sealing with egg white or whisked egg
  7. brush/coat entire biscuit in egg
  8. place on baking sheet with overlapping side down so the biscuit doesn’t unravel while baking
  9. repeat with remaining 19 biscuit halves
  10. sprinkle garlic salt and ground black pepper over rolled up pigs in a blanket
  11. bake for 12 minutes and enjoy!
