Buffalo Sauce Pork Chops with Melty Mozzarella

Buffalo Pork ChopPodcast Recommendation: This American Life: Tarred and Feathered (Three stories about people who are publicly shamed, including (1) a man who was literally tarred and feathered in Ireland in 2007, (2) a man whose reputation was tarnished by one person posting anonymously from multiple accounts on a small town’s online forum, and (3) pedophiles who don’t want to be pedophiles – centering around an individual who discovered he was a pedophile at age 16.)

Servings: 1

Prep Time: 5 minutes | Cook Time: 10-12 minutes

Ingredients:

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 3 tablespoons Frank’s Red Hot or cayenne-based similar (I used Burman’s Hot Sauce)
  • garlic salt
  • ground black pepper
  • cayenne pepper
  • boneless pork chop(s)
  • thinly sliced fresh mozzarella

Instructions:

  1. heat olive oil and two tablespoons hot sauce over medium heat in sauce pan
  2. season each side of the pork chop with garlic salt, ground black pepper, and cayenne pepper
  3. add the pork chop once the oil and hot sauce start to bubble in the pan
  4. cook for 2-3 minutes per side (or until done)
  5. move pork chop to foil-lined cookie sheet and dump additional hot sauce on pork chop (amount depends on your preference)
  6. put thin slice of mozzarella on pork chop
  7. broil on high for 5-7 minutes
